Allium- new restaurant on bottom floor of 5th & Main

this review is for http://ktotheg.tumblr.com/

Taken from www.alliumnashville.com:

“The creators of Germantown Café proudly say, “Welcome to Allium!” Located on the ground floor of new 5th and Main building on the resurgent east side, Allium is less than a mile from downtown and Five Points and mere steps from LP Field.

Specializing in contemporary and classic French-influenced cuisine, Allium is the perfect spot to grab a sophisticated bite before the Symphony, after the theatre, or maybe just a regular old Tuesday night out on the town. Sporting a muted and warm interior with a drop-dead view of downtown Nashville, Allium also offers a full bar featuring top-of-the-line wines and spirits as well as a wide array of beers, both bottled and on-tap.”

We shared the appetizers: goat cheese & onion tart, gnocchi with bacon and pear sauce, mussels, and their homemade potato chips with a mustard cognac sauce.  We had all sorts of entrees.  Salmon, the sandwiches with the fried egg, & scallops.  Elisa felt like the Caesar salad was one of the best shes ever had.  The homemade mustard dill dressing on the house salad was amazing. All the appetizers were incredible especially the gnocchi. Everyone seemed very happy with thier meal.

The ambience was on point.  Elegant but simple, quiet and relaxing, staff was friendly and very knowledgeable. all the staff wears real bowties they have to tie themselves….which is interesting.  I will hopefully be returning soon.
